September 20, 2024 – The Crestview Local School District is proud to announce that longtime employee Kathy Peyton was honored Wednesday evening at the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) Central Region Fall Conference. Kathy was one of 12 exemplary school employees recognized for their outstanding service, and she received a plaque in recognition of her 32 years of dedication to the district.
Kathy has been a cornerstone of the Crestview Local Schools community since she began working as a bus driver in August 1992. Over the years, her roles have expanded, reflecting her dedication and willingness to support the district in any capacity. From 1993 to 2007, she took on the additional responsibilities of a playground and cafeteria aide, ensuring a safe and positive environment for middle school students.
Since 2007, Kathy has meticulously maintained the district's 25-acre campus, mowing and tending to the grounds, while continuing her daily bus routes. Her attention to detail and care for the school grounds has earned praise from the community, which appreciates the pride she takes in her work.
In addition to her other duties, Kathy became certified in 2013 to assist with water testing for the district, further demonstrating her commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the students and staff. Throughout her career, Kathy has shown a positive attitude, professionalism, and kindness in all her roles.
Crestview School Board President Debbie Reidy expressed her pride in Kathy’s recognition: “Kathy has been an invaluable part of our school community for over three decades. Her tireless dedication to the students, staff, and district as a whole is truly inspiring. We are thrilled to see her receive this well-deserved honor.”
Kathy’s ties to the Crestview community run deep, with two sons who are both graduates of Crestview High School, and past involvement as a middle school basketball coach. Her commitment to the district has left a lasting impact, making her recognition by the OSBA Central Region a fitting tribute to her exceptional service.
The Exemplary School Employee Award is presented annually by the OSBA Central Region to recognize outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to their districts. Kathy Peyton’s recognition is a testament to her unwavering dedication and the positive influence she has had on the Crestview Local School District.
